BANFF

Brekky is included at Aspen Lodge, Banff,  so that's where our day started. We drove up to Bow Falls at the top of town and then to the Banff Hot Springs.
We went into town to try to book seats on an evening wildlife trip, still hoping to find a grizzly bear,  but it was booked out.
Instead we drove to Lake Minnewanka, pronounced Minnewunka, not mini wanker! We took a boat ride on the lake, which is huge. The northern shores are inhabited by bears and other animals,  but the pine tree growth on the southern shore is too dense for larger animals.

The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is located at the top of town and is a magnificent hotel. We called in to check it out and stayed for lunch at the coffee shop before browsing the hotel's shops.

Back in town we wandered through the local shops and then ate dinner at a very busy Mexican restaurant.
