Our cases were taken last night but we seem to have doubled the amount of carry-on luggage we have. After brekky we collected our gear and disembarked at the Port of Vancouver.
We caught a taxi to the car hire depot at a city hotel where we were able to log on to the hotel's WiFi.
On checking messages I learned of the passing of my cousin, Paul Hill. Paul was 56 years old and one of the most positive and happiest people you could ever hope to meet.
Kathy is at the wheel of the hire vehicle, which is similar to a Ford Territory. We're on our way to Whistler, passing by rivers, creeks and lots of pine trees.
The hotel is lovely. We have a 1brm unit which is very spacious and absolutely delightful. Delta Whistler Village seems to be close to town so we can stroll down for some supplies. The room has a kitchen so we can feed ourselves - a change from the restaurants on board the ship.
We wandered around the village to find a coffee shop for lunch. Kathy and Judy explored further later in the afternoon while I stayed inside as the outside temperature was around 7°C and this cold still has me in its grip.
This evening we ate at Urban Cafe, a home style meal. Lots of people here, of all ages and from all sorts of places.
We are in Whistler for two nights so have some sightseeing planned.
